(A delayed) monday blog post
Saturday, which was our last day in Nairobi, we went on a tour around the city to see it's different parts. We were escorted in the mini bus to the destinations and in some cases went out to take pictures and feel the site. We did one of these stops on a hill from were we could see Kibera, the biggest slum area in Africa, an other at the central buisness dictrict, where we went to the Masai market and up on a roof top and got a great view over Nairobi. It is a very green city, a lot of trees and vegetation everywhere, which really contributes to the beauty of the city and gives it an impression of a smaller city. Not as a city with over 4 million inhabitants.

Yesterday, at our journey to Kisumu, we made a quick stop at the Rift Valley where we had the most amazing view over the forest. It felt like in the scene in the Lion King when Mufasa points out to Simba all of the land he one day will be king of (except the savanna was now a forest) - you felt very small but at the same time really powerful. Until now the general impression of Kenya is that it is a green country even tough we got a number of the green areas in Kenya only is 7%. We saw wild zebras along the road and stopped to eat at a restaurant connected to enourmus fields of tea plantations. And as we got closer to Kisumu the nice breeze from the window that had been cooling went hotter and more humid.
